It was decided that three gift certificates would be issued in the value of USD 50.00 per category (appetizer, main dish and dessert). The Committee will take care of refreshments and supplies. It was also decided that the event will be open to residents of other Princeton Housing units. A reminder email will be sent out on the Thursday prior to the event.
    • It was decided that the Committee will purchase a Sam’s Club membership to cover purchases for all the events in the year.
  3. Charles gave an update on the Housing Committee meeting:
    • There will be a new policy which allows G4 students to be pulled in by G3, G2 and G1 students at the time of the draw.
    • There is a possibility that housing renovation plans may be put on hold – but there is no official notification on this subject.
    • There may be future improvements on housing statistics.
  4. A ‘Good neighbor’ policy was posted on the website following the complaint of a resident. Residents can send Olivia Martel formal complaints.
  5. It was noted that some buildings in Lawrence are currently undergoing second round of radon testing. University will publish results.
  6. Regarding the website:
    • Superintendent David Young’s office hours were posted on the website.
    • Old and dead-end links were removed from the website.
  7. Olivia gave the following updates from University Housing:
    • Olivia is to check with Housing if there are empty units which the Committee may photograph and post on the Lawrence website for prospective residents.
    • Olivia does not yet have feedback from Housing on the issue of a card-swipe system in laundry rooms.
    • Housing may install bike sheds in addition to bike shelters but it seems that funding for this project is not yet available.
    • Housing is to order new BBQ grills and benches as well as a ramp for the back of Building 1.
    • Reagrding mail thefts, the current suggestion is to place a ‘drop box’.
    • Princeton Borough has vetoed the installation of Verizon FIOS – this is not under the University’s control.
    • Students who face heating problems must place a facilities request suggestion. These issues will be taken care of on a case-by-case basis.
    • There will be an emergency phone in the parking lot, and Housing is currently deciding on its location.
    • Housing is working on providing more flatbed carts during moving periods.
    • Trash collection times cannot be changed.
  8. Charles noted residents’ complaints regarding the lack of shopping carts and vacuums. It was decided that future emails to the community will include a notice on vacuum returns.
  9. Maja requested that a warm composter be purchased for the garden. Olivia says facilities may be able to purchase it.
  10. Olivia reminded the committee that complaints and suggestions on the new shuttle service must be made to Matthew Brown from the Parking and Transportation office.
