On February 5th, 2026, the Lawrence Committee held its monthly Town Hall meeting. The following are the minutes of that meeting.
Social Events & Mugs
- Lawrence Mugs: The committee mugs have arrived! Distribution has begun at community events. If you missed the first handout, no need to worry — mugs will continue to be distributed at upcoming events throughout the semester. Keep an eye on your email and the Lawrence Slack channel for details.
- Board Game Launch: We are excited to announce the launch of our new board game collection during our next social gathering.
Facilities & Amenities
- Common Room Updates: A new foosball table has been installed. New board games will be available for use in the common areas starting February 23rd.
- Signage: New signage for building identification (A4 format) and printer/stapler instructions is currently in development.
- Whiteboard Maintenance: New whiteboard markers have arrived for use in laundry/study rooms.
- Filtered Water Stations: At this time, Housing is unable to accommodate the request for filtered water stations within Lawrence; this has been added to the long-term wish list for future consideration.
Garden Committee
- Seed Starting Social: Join us on March 21st in the Building 14 common room (tentative location and time) for our annual garden kickoff.
- Garden Sign-ups: An official email regarding community garden registration will be sent in late February.
Safety & Deliveries
- Door Safety: Residents are reminded that door stoppers are not permitted in the buildings as they constitute a fire and safety hazard.
- High-Value Packages: For secure delivery of high-value items, residents are encouraged to use the services at Frist Campus Center. More details can be found here: Secure Package Shipping for Graduate Students | Print and Mail Services.
